Abstract:

We prove the existence of globally defined variational solutions to the full Navier-Stokes system of equations describing the motion of a viscous, compressible, and heat conducting fluid.  The main novelty of the paper lies in the fact that the viscosity coefficients are effective functions of the temperature.
